Designing for Safety

Summary: The Designing for Safety program counts as one (1) Health, Safety and Welfare Learning Unit through AIA. It is 52 slides long and should take 40-45 minutes to present.

Designing for Safety has four learning objectives:

  1. Explain the importance of emergency eyewash and shower equipment in settings where users are exposed to hazardous substances.
  2. Comply with regulations and design best practices for locating and specifying emergency eyewash and shower equipment.
  3. Incorporate emergency eyewash and shower equipment in workplace and teaching environments.
  4. Comply with tepid water requirements for emergency fixtures by incorporating a tepid water solution.
