Course is worth 1 HSW credit hour for, AIA, NKBA and NARI
Course is worth 1 General Designation from IDECEC/ASID
Course Description: Does this product have a backflow preventer? Is this valve anti-scald? It’s a challenge to know what your plumber knows – that’s why he’s the one doing the work! However, the more people “in the know” during the product selection process and construction phase the fewer chances for costly mistakes and inconvenience for your clients. This course will teach you the mechanical basics of product selection, functionality, code requirements and how to calculate water consumption to design a water efficient project.
Course Objectives:
- Examine both national and state regulations on water use and the new requirements for plumbing products that are specified for residential and commercial use.
- Design a bathroom that not only meets the clients’ aesthetic requirements, but provides a balance between functionality and sustainability.
- Differentiate between a pressure balancing and thermostatic shower safety valves and convey the operation of the valves to your client.
- Calculate the water consumption of your project to find the possible areas for water conservation.
